Hi!
I've been looking for an answer to this question in old messages but I didn't found it...
My case: I own a second-hand Savage from 1986 with 40000 km on it and the outer side of the drive belt shows hairline cracks with large white lines between every tooth. The inner side is in a pretty good shape.
Should I ride every day with the fear that the belt snaps at every moment? Should I change it? (220 euros, ay!, and I can't find a similar belt in Bando or other enterprise catalog) Has somebody 'pushed' the belt live long before these cracks appearing? Cheaper belts somewhere else?
Anyway, after changing the tires this week I simply don't have the money...
What do you think?
Thanks in advance,
Juan
